I almost quit. More than once.
Nothing dramatic or a big moment or anything, but just one of those times where you are so beyond burnt-out and wonder how you can keep moving forward like that. And if you’re even cut out for this job.
I've wanted to be a realtor since I was 12. Yes, 12. So the fact that I was doing everything “right” and doing it the way I was taught — posting consistently, following up relentlessly, staying visible — but still feeling so rundown in a way that a vacation wasn’t going to fix, I realized the problem wasn’t me.
It wasn't my work ethic or the market. It wasn't even my results because on paper, things looked fine.
The problem was the way I was running my business.
I had built my business on a foundation that required me to constantly feed it. It required me to constantly be hustling or else everything stopped.
And that's not a business. That's a second job you can't call in sick to.
So I burned it down and built something different :)
I stopped chasing strangers and started deepening relationships with people who already knew me. I stopped posting into the void and started showing up in ways that actually meant something. I built systems that kept me top of mind without keeping me up at night.
Within a year, 99% of my business was coming from referrals and repeat clients.
Not because I got lucky. Because I built it that way on purpose.
And now I teach other agents how to do the same thing.
Most agents quit in their first year or before their fifth. You don’t have to be one of them.
You found the referral-first method.
Before You Quit: The Referral-First Reset:
a private podcast experience
Four episodes (less than 10 minutes each) that introduces you to the Referral-First Method and makes it feel real and possible for your actual business.
This isn't just motivation. It is exactly what I did to achieve my referral-based business.
This is a picture of what a referral-first business looks like, how it works, and what you need to do to start building yours today.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
Episode 1 — It's Not You, It's the Model.
Why the way most agents build their business is designed to burn them out.
Episode 2 — The Referral-First Framework.
An introduction to all 6 pillars of the method. You'll finally have a map instead of a list of things to try.
Episode 3 — What This Actually Looks Like.
Real examples of what a referral-first business feels like day-to-day. Spoiler: it's calmer and better than what you're doing now.
Episode 4 — Where to Start.
Two concrete action steps to begin building your referral-first foundation — plus a clear next step if you want to go deeper.
Why I made this a podcast:
This is a private podcast. That means it lives in your podcast app (the one you already use) and you can listen while you drive, walk, do dishes, decompress after a showing. Whatever.
I intentionally made it so there is no login portal to remember or a video you have to watch. Nothing to download and never look at again.
It’s just four intentional, focused chats that meet you where you currently are.
Minimal effort. Maximum results.
THIS IS FOR YOU IF:
You got into real estate because you genuinely love helping people but somewhere along the way it started feeling like a hustle you didn't sign up for.
You’re tired of running your business in a way that takes more than it gives you.
You want to build something sustainable. Something that feels good. Something that works with your personality and energy.
You're open to a completely different way of thinking about your business — and $27 feels like a reasonable bet on yourself.
THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
You love cold outreach and it's working for you. Just keep doing that.
You're looking for a magic script or a viral strategy. That's not what this is.
You want someone to hype you up for 45 minutes. There are lots of free podcasts for that.
$27.
Four episodes. Yours forever.
That's less than a dinner out. Less than a tank of gas. Less than one hour of your time billed at what you're actually worth.
If it shifts even one thing about how you see your business, it's already paid for itself ten times over.
This isn't something you'll never finish. It's 40 minutes. You can listen to the whole thing before the week is out — and most people do.
You didn't get into this industry to grind yourself into the ground.
You got in because you're good with people, you love the work, and you wanted the time-freedom it promised you.
That's still possible. It just looks different than what you were taught.
Come listen. I think you'll feel a lot better about all of this by Episode 2.
